Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of the job of the Area Inspector is to ensure pressure equipment integrity and optimise availability of BLNG assets by effective execution of the inspection work scope.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Assist to develop and implement policies and strategies for inspection of mechanical static equipment assets integrity to meet the overall BLNG business objectives and targets.
• Provide inspection support to execution parties, technologist and production unit team during normal operations, unit shutdown and major turnaround and ensure that the work complies with. BLNG requirements.
• Prepare and implement inspection monitoring programs both on and off streams to maximize uninterrupted operation of the plant
• Provide support for developing the mechanical static inspection related scope for unit shutdowns and plant turnaround.
• Review plant change request, FSR deviations, change requests and repair methods and provide inspection inputs with applicable QAQC requirements to comply with BLNG and codes requirements.
• Participate in investigation and diagnosis of static equipment and piping failures or irregularities.
• Provide support to maintenance and project for material and welding related issues
• Document, report and track equipment condition and repair/rectification recommendations.
• Support the coordinating inspector for the annual LNG train major turnaround campaign. Provide inspection support to utility, terminal and other areas during routine and unit shutdowns.
• Contributes as inspection engineering resource to reliability projects such as RCM, IPF, RBI, as required.
• Contributes to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the BLNG Quality Management System.
• Support EMI to advice management on condition of BLNG's cathodic protection system for PEI via inspection reporting
• Acts as BLNG NDT Focal Point for the area.

Qualifications:

BSc degree, HND or other relevant qualification in Mechanical/Materials Engineering

Experience:

Minimum 8 years field inspection experience in downstream oil, chemical and/or gas industry focused on maintenance, turnarounds and/or brown-field projects

Certifications:

• API 510 and API 570 certification or equivalent.
• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector and CSWIP 3.4 and Radiographic Interpreter certification or equivalent.

Special Abilities:

• Knowledge level in aspects of materials, corrosion/degradation mechanisms, NDT/NDE techniques and RBI principles.
• Familiarity with Shell DEPs and Standards will be an advantage.
• This is a site-based role, requiring frequent site visits based on site requirements. The applicant must be able to work at height and in confined spaces.
